Teens are abandoning Facebook for TikTok, a pew survey study says

US teens have left Facebook in dramatic numbers lately. Teens are now choosing video-sharing apps like TikTok, Youtube, and snap chat according to a survey data by the pew research center.

TikTok has now taken a massive number of users because of its video-sharing services. Most teens now opt for TikTok than Instagram as much believe, it does not entertain them much as the other social media platforms. Though it remains popular among older people.

A survey of more than 1,300 American teens ages 13 to 17 found that the number of teens who use Facebook has dropped drastically by nearly 40 % from the 2014 to 2015 survey.

Although Instagram is more popular with US teens than it was in the 2014-2015 survey luckily for the Meta App.

A more recent online survey was conducted by the Pew Research center from April to May 4th, 2022, and just 32% of teens log on to Facebook, which is a big drop down from the 71% recorded users in seven years.

About 62% of teens use Instagram, while 89% of teens said they use snap chat. Furthermore, 95% of the teens surveyed use Youtube, and 61% of them use TikTok.

The study confirmed that Facebook is almost a platform for the oldies in the eyes of the teens, as adults are more drawn to Facebook more than any other social network.

Snapchat is also another service that is quite popular among teens and it is recorded to have increased the number of users from 41% to 59% since 2015.

Another part of the recent survey reported a vast majority of teens have access to the digital world as 95% of US teens own smartphones, while nearly 99% have desktops/laptops. Also, 97% of teens were revealed to be constantly online.
