After being banned from Twitter and Instagram for an antisemitic post, Kanye West, or Ye, is establishing a new social media platform called Parler.
John Matze and Rebekah Mercer founded the social media platform Parler in 2018 with the goal of providing users with a safe space to express themselves without censorship.
“The proposed acquisition will assure Parler a future role in developing an uncancelable ecosystem where all voices are welcome,” said George Farmer, CEO of Parler (Parlement Technologies).
Kanye continued, “We have to make sure we have the right to openly express ourselves in a world where conservative beliefs are thought to be controversial.”
However, the company’s owner has said, “Under the terms of the agreement in principle, the parties intend to engage into a definitive acquisition agreement and hope to close during the fourth quarter of 2022.” The specifics of the deal have not been disclosed. To this, he added, “Parlement will be honored to assist him (Kanye) in realizing his vision.
