Google is shutting down its games streaming services Stadia after almost three years of unveiling the game streaming service. Although the company announced that subscribers will still have access to their games until January 18th, 2023 that’s when it will go off completely.
Google’s vice president and general manager of Stadia, Phil Harrison mentioned the reason for doing the aforesaid that “it hasn’t gained the traction with users that it expected since its launch in 2019” adding that, via a blog post that “we’ll be refunding all Stadia hardware purchases made through the google store, and all game and add-on content purchases made through the google store, and all game and add-on content purchases made through the Stadia store”.
Currently, the Stadia store has been shut down, and In-game transactions and game purchases have been disabled as well.
Although the company said, most members of the Stadia team will continue their work in other sectors inside google disclosed Harrison.
